4. Basic Working Principle

Press machine → Punch moves downward → Sheet metal is held/forming takes place → Die supports the material → Required component is produced

Example:
For a blanking operation, the punch forces the sheet into the die opening and separates the required blank from the sheet.

5. Simple Industrial Example

Automobile bracket production:

Sheet Metal → Feeding → Punching → Bending → Trimming → Finished Bracket

This can be carried out using a progressive press tool when large quantities of identical brackets are required.

In short: Press tools are extensively used in industries where large quantities of accurate sheet-metal components must be produced quickly, economically, and consistently.
